- John a’Beckett was born in Melbourne, Australia, in 1948. Since 1995 he has lived in Warsaw, Poland, where he teaches English at Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University. He is the co-founder of and contributing editor to New Europe Writers. Through the translations of Wojciech Maslarz, his poems have been published in several prominent Polish periodicals, including The Lighthouse, Borderlands Poet’s Nook, Arcana, and the anthologies Warsaw Near and Far, Gyroscope, and Sigismund’s Column.
